Anyone know what was going on?

There were like 20 cop cars with their lights flashing this morning on vanderbilt. not sure why...

A dozen plus came down my street yesterday lights and sirens, heading east. Noticing they were from different pcts, I pondered if it was the NYPD Critical Response Vehicle program, and why in BK?

I predict training.

I don't know why, but they do the critical response thing in BK at GAP all the time.

Personally, I'd be pissed if I was a cop stationed in Canarsie or Seagate or some other far-flung locale and I was directed to drive to a point meet up with a bunch of other cops, drive to GAP with lights and sirens on, sit there for a couple of minutes, then drive all the way back to my precinct. But maybe that's just me, and cops secretly love that crap.

A friend of mine spoke with one of the officers. Apparently there have been 36 robberies in the last 28 days. Mostly apartments, hadn't heard about bodegas getting hit. Cops are on the lookout and when you see a group of them I believe it is because someone has just gotten hit where they are congregated. One burglary took place when an air conditioner was pushed into a window on a first floor apt. So be careful out there PHers! A few months ago people were breaking in from above using roofs and fire escapes too
