i'm stuck with verizon so i got a droid, of which i am very very fond. only problem is that there doesn't deem to be a way to put music download from the itunes store onto it because they're in itunes format. anyone know a way around this? please don't say "get an iphone," that's just not helpful. merci beaucoup!

As a possible alternative, you could instead download songs from Amazon.com.

Open iTunes on your computer, then click on Edit > Preferences > General

Look for "Ask to import CD" click on "Import Settings". "Import using" is set as "AAC Encoder" click the drop down menu and change it to "MP3 Encoder".

"Ok" everything and then right click on any song in your iTunes playlist and choose "create MP3 version".

The one you mp3'd will show up as a duplicate in your itunes playlist, underneath the original one you downloaded, so you don't have to worry about having to go up and down the list looking for it. It's easier to drag the songs you MP3'd onto your desktop screen and then drag them into your Droid from there.

Honestly, even with my iPhone I still use my iPod all of the time. Why part with music unless you can bring the whole library?

Otherwise, the above method should work for ocnverting your files. Or else, someone could make a pretty penny creating an app for that.
