Walgreens for corner of EPW and Franklin?

Anyone else heard this rumor? Seems logical. I know the corner of 9th St and 5th Avenue has a drugstore as does 10th St and 5th Avenue. Seems they like corner locations, and what better corner location than next to an express subway stop.

I recently [Tue Aug 24, 2010 8:27 pm EST] asked the the Crow Hill Assn this question. Their rep implied that no such plans had been finalized.

That rumor seems to have been around for a few months.

I wouldn't hate it, but wouldn't love it either. It would be really convenient since right now I walk to Park and Flatbush for specific drug-store purchases -- I try to go to the Bengali Store or Mazon on Franklin for most of my purchases, but I want a specific type of toothpaste, etc. and don't want to just buy whatever they have...

But WHATEVER it is, it's better than what is there now.

Sidenote...Although as much as I liked Mazon having a bigger store, when they were closing they recorded someone telling us they were closing and things were on sale ... and it played on loop ALL DAY. With my windows open, it was a tad annoying....but whatever.

Rumor's been around for years-- at one point it was a starbucks that was going to open on the ground floor of the new building.

Oh yeah-- we need that new building before there can be a tenant. and judging by the looks of that big hole in the ground....

well...originally i had heard Olive Garden.

I heard about the Starbucks before they even tore the building down. People talk.

Mazon lost financing. If the economy didn't tank there very well could have been a residential building with a Starbucks etc... Mazon is still trying to get financing I hear but maybe he will sell to another developer and then who knows??
