delicious and healthy smoothies ?

I was in Philadelphia this weekend, and I had a surprisingly delicious kale smoothie. I expected it to taste gross, but they mixed frozen kale with bananas and something else - all I know is that it was good, and since I don't eat enough vegetables, I would like to get a similar smoothie as a regular thing.
Does anyone know if anyplace in the slope makes anything like this? I checked Naidres, green kitchen, and fuel and they seem to only have fruit smoothies.
Alternatively, does anyone have a kale smoothie recipe to share?

have you tried that new juice bar type place on 5th and lincoln-ish?

if not lincoln, it's one block in either direction....

I think you're referring to the one on 5th and Warren/Prospect Pl. I'm curious myself. I'd love to hear a review if anyone else has been....

Hi, this is Janice from naidre's... thanks for checking us out, and sorry we didn't have what you were looking for. I'm fairly sure that Back to the Land has a vegetable juice bar, 7th bet. Carroll and Garfield. Good luck!

I gave up and made my own out of Kale, a banana, and some orange juice. It was exactly like the one I had in Philly and much cheaper than buying one somewhere. Waiting for the healthiness to kick in :)

They can do that sort of thing at the new smoothie place on 5th avenue, although I prefer to make my own. There is a great book called Green For Life that talks all about the green smoothies and tons of websites as well. I started doing it every day and I'm noticing a big change. Good luck!

I make a smoothie with 4-5 leaves of lacinato kale, two apples, the juice of half a lemon, and 1-1.5 cups of water.
