You may want to post this under the STUFF category - there are a bunch of people from that neighborhood that post under Brooklyn Back When.

AND on a purely selfish note - if you know anyone who went to John Jay High School from 1969 to 1974 I am DESPERATELY trying to get a yearbook (esp 1972 or 73)!

    Hi Darlene -

There were 2 butchers on 5th Ave. btwn. 21/22 Sts. Danny's was closer to 21 St. (near St. Anna's club and Nat's Dry Cleaners) and Frank's was nearer to 22nd St. (next to Camberlango's). Hope this helps. (My mom used Franks and to this day I'm still friends w/his son Frank Jr.!!)

I can't help imagining the OP as Alice. The housekeeper in the Brady Bunch who had a crush on the butcher.

In my mind, Alice and the butcher have somehow become seperated, and she is expanding her search to Brooklyn ....even though the Brady Bunch lived somewhere in California.

    (no offense OP)

I saw somewhere that some people started this new company putting all the old year books back out there. Not that I am going to be a big help to you but google yearbooks and see. I just read it recently.

And to The Gannon lady the butchers were Danny the Butcher and Mike's on 5th and many years ago in the 50's there was another butcher on 5th between 20 and 21st I believe and he was Louie the Butcher. lol
