Donating Books?

Anyone have any suggestions for a good and easy way to get rid of a bunch of books? I'm not really interested in trying to sell them or anything -- anywhere you'd recommend to donate or maybe even recycle them? There are really too many to put out on the stoop.

Either leave them outside, they'll get read.... or give them to the used book dude on 7th btwn Sterling and Park. He's a really nice guy that brokers used books.

If they fit these criteria it would be really great to donate them to help out Daniel McGowan - info at http://bookthugnation.com/

ETA: if they meet the criteria but aren't sold they will then go to books through bars, another great group

I usually take them to the Info Desk @ the GAP Library, they're happy to receive them. Other stuff, too, like DVDs...

    Subject: donate books

Bring them to the library, they can sell them and use the money for new books you can borrow.

Send me a PM if they are books for juveniles. My wife works with juveniles and likes to have books to give them.

    Take them to:

    The Great American Book Drive
Brooklyn Public Library, Central Library Plaza
    Saturday, October 2nd
    10 am - 3 pm

Donate your own used books, or buy news ones at a $1 book sale. Either way you'll be supporting the library's collection.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll probably bring them to the book drive.
