Subject: landlords don't let your tenants use the roof.

man the wear and tear, weared out the roof on my park slope place. had to replace it today. started to leak this week. sucks... lesson learn.

    i thought i told her only towels lol. but some how they brought up furniture etc.. up there. i have a garden for them!!!! but anyway that garden is shot lol, the tenants when they have parties they step on plants etc.. after two years i stop putting in plants.

    in life you can't really do anything nice...

    also that learn me !!!! and water is wet!!!

    A roof deck over a roof with a broken membrane isn't going solve the problem (i.e. one in which the tenants have used furniture)

    As mentioned above, roof decks are major pains in the butt (maitenance, insurance, etc). If I was a landlord, no tenants would be on my roof. I also would be cautious about hiring some character like Whynot to build my roof deck because NYC has some pretty strict codes regarding adhereing the thing to the roof in a way that it doesn not blow off on to the pedestrians below during a wind storm. .....you also have to adhere it in such a way that it does not cause more damage than it prevents.

    Whynot recommends:
    No one on roof (preferred)

    or

    Installation by professional (if you have money to burn and want to make tenants happy). Have professional install those thick interlocking tiles on roof, because some guy building something from treated wood will likely create lots of problems.
