Owners- Why close a great restaurant only to open up a high-end cocktail place? You have so many great dishes and we enjoyed many meals there as well as made some great friends. I don't think the area needs a high end cocktail place.

Having given the place a few tries, I never thought the food there was that great. And Park Slope really doesn't have any great cocktail bars like Carroll Gardens and Prospect Heights do. I think they may get much more of my business this way.

i used to have a soft spot for long tan, but the last few times, the food has been distinctly meh.

i will miss their beef salad, though.

You have to at least give them props for opening on 5th ave back when 5th ave was 7th ave's ugly step sister. Then again maybe they're also partially responsible for creating the glut of Asian fusion restaurants in the Slope. But frankly we have enough upscale places in the Slope. I miss some of the downscale places that used to be around.

same here, sweet tea. it became greasy and unremarkable imho. I'd much rather pay them for good cocktails.

When it opened, there weren't many alternatives for food of that type.

They never seemed to be a successful bar OR restaurant.

Nevertheless, I'll miss the $5 Pad Thai at the bar and the long happy hours.

C'mon, the food was good - and close by - when they opened. I liked Long Tan.
Fine, it's true that I too stopped going and getting takeout from there as the food slid downhill. I loved the decor of the main room - cheap, plain, chic.
    Goodbye and thank you!

Their food had been suffering for a long time, as had their awning, which I'd swear was only held together by pigeon shit and mold for the last couple of years.

i'll miss it. barkeeps were awesome women. food was meh; but enough variety to sate everyone. are they turning it into more of a bar? or is it, sadly, over?
