Hi all,

Now that I'm moving to a new apt, going to need a laundry/shopping cart. I've checked out a few at the hardware stores nearby (Pitchnik and the place on 5th Ave near bike shop), but not finding a good one. I like the ones with the metal latch for keeping closed, but haven't found a big enough one.

Any suggestions? Where is the best selection and prices?

Thanks!

I figured Pintchik's would have the best selection. Maybe they're just not making them like they used to...shrug.

It seems Ptintchik is more of a paint store now. Not much of a selection on the granny carts.

I went through a bunch of them before finally splurging and getting one at the Container Store. It latches to stay closed, stands up right when closed on its own, has wheel locks for using it on the subway, and is really easy to carry up/down stairs when open. It was like $50 but I don't regret it in the slightest.

that's troubling about pintchik's. i am always singing the praises of the one we got there, which is awesome and tough and has an unusually comfortable handle.

wherever you get one, i highly recommend trying to find one with this stuff on the handle or adding it yourself aftermarket: http://www.amazon.com/Color-Coded-Handle-Foam-pack/dp/B001ANOYZS

i got a big one a few years ago at the hardware store on flatbush that's on the same block as piquant (diagonal across from Farm). give them a look.
