help getting rid of a mattress box spring?

I need to get rid of an old mattress and box spring. It's too old to give away or sell so I got to get it to the curb.

I'm on the 4th floor of a 4-story walk-up. How do I get this out of my house? Are there people to call that help with these things?

Locally, I don't have a bunch of guy friends who would help me carry this out, so asking friends to help isn't really an option.

Did you order a replacement? If it hasn't come yet, just offer an extra good tip to the guys that deliver it to carry it down for you. I've gotten furniture delivery guys to do that kind of stuff before and they seemed happy for the extra bucks.

    1. Approach the super.

    If that does not work,

    2. Approach people you know (hint)

Not ordering a mattress until I move and I don't want to take this one with me.

@whynot - I'm so not going to ask you guys for help with this. That would be soooo lame. But asking the super is a good idea.

If that doesn't work, maaaaybe I'll ask for help (I'm notoriously bad at asking for help though). Was hoping to throw a few bucks at some guys.

I have a friend who's looking to make a little extra money. He's in a desperate state and would be very available to help you with this. PM me and I'll connect you.
