Tailor?

I KNOW this has been covered a lot, but my search returned two threads: one about a tailor for ripped jeans, and one from 2007.

I need a tailor who can sew a lining into a leather jacket in Park Slope or near PS. If anyone knows of one, or can direct me to a thread where I can find the answer, I appreciate the help!

    if you dont mind taking a second or third mortgage the cleaners on 10 st 4 av is a decent tailor

    there are no real tailors left in the city.

    ive used wagner on Fulton st, just off of broadway. Yeah, it's not park slope, but it's the first stop in manhattan on the A/C. not too much of a trek.

    There are two actual old-fashioned tailor shops on the second floor at 138 East 61st Street (at the corner of Lexington). I've used one of them, L & S Custom Tailors http://www.lstailors.com/L%26S_Tailors/Home.html. They've taken in a leather jacket when I lost weight, let it out when I regained the weight, fixed torn suspenders, etc.

    They also make custom Italian suits if you can afford them (which, sadly, I cannot).

    In other words, a "real tailor".

    what did they charge, if you recall?

    I don't remember specifically, but at the time it seemed very cheap. $40 or so, I think.

    I'm totally sold on the place.

    Disclosure: the tailor's brother, Joseph Cristiano, has been cutting my hair for the last 30 years or so. His barber shop is next door to the tailor shop. But I've only been going to the tailor for the last couple of years.
