bkchickieA friend of mine who lives in the boonies reports that kids trick or treated earlier in the week. Something about Halloween falling on a Sunday made people in her town nervous. Kinda stupid, if you ask me. -

Where I grew up we always trick-or-treated on the last friday of October from 6-9pm. That way everyone was out at the same time and people could be prepared. While it stunk if it was 6 days before actual Halloween, it made the whole thing easier. -

I'm not sure how that makes it easier to be out at the same time and prepared. If it's October 31 from 6-9, that's pretty easy to arrange, too. -

No that's true -- but obviously it isn't set that way or the question wouldn't have been asked -- since it's on a Sunday, I'm sure *most* people are planning to celebrate on Saturday night --and the question now is, are kids also trick-or-treating then too.. -
nonhipoldbklynchickI don't ever remember trick or treating being on any day other than Halloween here in Brooklyn. It didn't matter if it was good weather or bad, weekday or weekend, trick or treating was a one shot deal.... does anyone remember anything different in Brooklyn? -
ishtarI don't remember trick or treating on any day other than Halloween regardless of what day of the week it fell on. -
