77th pct Police quotas for moving violations

Am I the only one who thinks that the police having quotas (I'm sorry "productivity goals") for moving violations is such a bad thing?

....these are offenses that the police have long been accused of ignoring.

It might make it safer for me to cross the street and put some $ in the city's treasury.

I'll give parks police 16798 units of quota completion for capturing a crazy tree vandal. If WhyFi gets stopped with a red light ticket he can just tell them the quota has been met for this year.

i think they should ticket all offenses by vehicle drivers, bicyclists, and jay walkers.. selective enforcement against one group is not right

Completely agree. No group has a monopoly on traffic offenses. However one group (cars) does have a monopoly on creating death.

It would seem that such performance goals are a necessary part of supervising one's supervisees.

...agreed, it should not target one group. As we enter winter, less bikers will be out.

I'm all for going after drivers.

just this evening a lady heading down eastern parkway going towards grand army plaza almost killed an african american guy on a bicycle who wascutting across from the outbound lanes right across into the inbound lanes driving a black bike , wearing dark clothes no lights..... poor motorist almost shit herself.. and we all know it was her fault cause she was driving an evil car....

ill say it again id love to get the statistics to find out whether all the motorist bike accidents are all the motorists fault... same with pedestrians...

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about traffic quotas. (Stop & frisk and other quotas are far more troublesome, IMO)
