After 255 hrs of fallout new vegas.

I find this board to be disturbingly lacking of new topics.

and btw steam sucks steam piles. first 40 hours of playing the game lost. I play 2 days straight and their saves were screwed up.

I was in a race to beat the game among nerds and it wasn't cool. I would of won the contest of no life and beating the game first.

now tons of mods came out. game is 100% same as fallout 3 just different location. pretty easy to beat. just the side stories takes longer. if you go straight to the main game could beat it in a day.

Jezuz, and I felt guilty for putting in 60 hours on F:NV over the last two weeks.

AW, what did you think of Dragon Age? Should that be my next title?

I don't know what games you guys are talking about.

I'm still playing Red Dead Redemption. Absolutely love it.

    Good choices.

It is smart to avoid the vegetables, because they have roughage. Also, good to avoid beer b/c it will slow down your reaction time.

When I write proposals, it is a marathon. I'm pretty much a Brownie guy. But beer is also involved b/c reaction time isn't as much of a factor.

Ah, I've been meaning to pick up RDR, but haven't gotten around to it. Unfortunately, I missed the Toys r Us 'buy-2-get-1 free' last month, which is when I planned on getting it.

Anyway, are we talking PS3 or XBox? I'm anthonycm (I think) on the PS3. Usually playing Battlefield Bad Company 2, although I think I'm going to start giving Dead Space another run through, since part two comes out in January.

What? Red Dead 2 comes out in January?

No, Dead Space 2. DS1 is a really good survival-horror game that came out a couple of years back. You can probably pick it up for around $20. No multiplayer, though, if that's what you're looking for (although, I believe RDR isn't much of a multiplayer game either).

Never played DS1. Interesting, will check it out.

    I absolutely love RDR.

Supposedly it has multiplayer but I'm not big into multiplayer online.

I played MW2 online for a while and got tired of getting smoked by 14 year olds.

RDR multiplayer is a great selling point. THough I dislike playing with strangers, getting a few friends together is a whole lot of fun. Much like multiplayer on Rockstar's last great game, GTAIV.

Yeah but I can't afford to buy a 2nd computer built for gaming.

Also I work on a Mac.

Also the PS3 is easy and useful.

True, I don't know much about Steam. What are the "must-play" games on it?

Steam is the 800 lb gorilla when it comes to online distribution of games. As such, they have a wide variety of games available, whether they developed them, or not. Games that I've loved, purchased through Steam (all First Person Shooters or a variation thereof):

Portal - instant classic and yes - a must-play. Not too demanding on your hardware. Challenging puzzle/action game. Funny.

Half-Life 2 - again, it's a little older, so the graphics aren't bleeding-edge anymore, but they're still good and not too demanding on the hardware. Great gameplay, great balance of action and problem solving.

Bioshock - great gameplay, great mood/feel - you'll spend a lot of time worrying about what lurks in the many dark corners. (just looked - not available for Mac, yet)

Fallout 3/Fallout: New Vegas - Action RPG. Large world to explore, multiple paths to follow - do you want to be a good guy, or are you just in it for yourself? (not available for Mac, yet)

    Here's stuff that's available for Mac, now - http://store.steampowered.com/browse/mac

Eagerly awaiting the puchase of the new Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty: Black Ops. Oh, both for Xbox360.

Inciedently, got a Kinect. My wife and daughter love it. I think its kinda cool, but the releases for it thus far kinda suck. Better games must be in its future.

i went to my friends house to check out the new kinetc, its okay i guess :p. its basically a inverted wii remote lol. you know the guy who took apart the wii and inverted it and make it do things it wasn't suppose to do. well he got a job at microsoft and help develop the kinetc.

We got Black Ops on the PS3 a couple of weeks ago. Consensus from the gaming experts in my home are its not as good as MW2. Personally, having sat through hours of gameplay in multiplayer mode it seems like they didn't correct some of the most annoying quirks. As always, YMMV.

Just got done with my first play-through of Mass Effect 2. It was good game, but didn't seem as expansive as the original. I'm going to play through as a different character/morality and see what else I've missed.

homeowner did you or anyone play the 1 player mode?

I enjoyed MW2 1-player but it was pretty short.
