    Agreed. We claim to have standards and then we lower the bar to make our stats look better. Until we have people at the top who care about the individuals in the system the system won't improve -- and of course this new Chancellor appointment makes such total sense, I'm totally sure she's going to be looking out for the KIDS and not the budget's final line.

    I miss the vocational system.


    I really resent that we attempt to train everyone for 4 year colleges, fail, and then don't provide students with post high school education that is job based.


    ...why should students be forced to pay DeVry or ITT tutition (which is so high largely because of the debt offered to students) when the state could have filled this role?


    Why are our Community Colleges largely focused on being feeders for our 4 year colleges? .....can't the state admit that we need Dental Assistants and HHAs?


    Until then, we will phase out the local diploma. They'll drop out, then hopefully return to a "institute or academy" (not a "college") that offers them the opportunity to get their GED while they learn. So silly.
