any thoughts on this intersection in terms of safety? looking at a fully renovated 1 br, but just not sure of this neighborhood. thanks very much!

    I think I just saw that on Craigslist .... Kinda quiet area from what I know. Except during Labor Day weekend.

    I walk my dog along Washington, from EP to Empire regularly.


    ...for, um, the last 7 years :)


    Very quiet.


    The kids from the nearby high schools tend not to go that direction (they walk North to either Franklin or EP-museum subways).


    I think that block is a mix of coops and rentals.


    ...ditto, the tall building at Crown and Franklin. I think it is a mitchell lama type development (it certainly isn't NYCHA).

    I would take the apartment if you find the price to be reasonable. Everything posted above is pretty much right. You'll like the area, especially during the spring and summer. It's a short walk to just about everything in CH/PH.

    I live in the area and agree with everyone who posted. It’s a great location - pretty, quiet, a few minutes from the park, equidistant from the B,Q,2,3,4 and 5 and right in between all of the great stuff going on around Franklin and Flatbush. I'd say if the price is reasonable you should take it.
