Re-think this site's new look!

The "new look" and attendant modifications to this site have obviously been a bust. Site participation has ground to a virtual halt. Maybe some old Brooklyn wisdom is in order: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

How do you know that it wasn't broke? More goes on than you, the end user, can see...

Also, what would you change? "Waahhh! I don't like it!" isn't nearly as useful as, "I don't like it because..." No, the site's not perfect, but it doesn't get better without constructive criticism.

My two cents - there's a difference between "bad," and "different." Bad changes would probably result in less traffic, permanently. Different, even if it is better, usually results in less traffic until people become accustomed to the format. As it is now, I think that the site is more usable; maybe it's not currently more usable to the ol' fogies that haven't bothered to try pushing a few buttons... but their VCRs are still blinking "12:00" - only time will help them. For a completely new, but internet savvy, Brooklynian user, I think that they would have a preference for the new interface.

I could run the numbers, but I don't see any difference in overall site participation. If you are talking about Windsor Terrace/Kensington, that board never had very much traffic.

What Whyfi said is true - if you see something you don't like, by all means say specifically what it is, so we can take care of it.
