Small animal vet

Can anyone recommend a good vet for small animals, such as a gerbil? My son's gerbil has a little blood around her ear, we're not sure if it's a cut or coming out of the ear. We need to find a vet that works with gerbils as well as cats and dogs, preferably in the Windsor Terrace/Park Slope area.

I had a pet rat with an abscess who was treated at Animal Kind on 7th avenue. http://www.animalkind.com/

Now that I have dogs I still use them. According to their doctor profiles on the website, at least to of their vets have small animal experience, though i do not see the one who help me out 5 or 6 years ago.

    Good luck.

I don't have anything to add other than that you are a very kind parent for putting in the effort to get your sons gerbil checked out. My parents were similar (we took all of our pets, including the feeder-mice variety, to the vet annually) and it taught me volumes about not only animal care, but also responsibility and goodwill towards all types of life.

Good luck and I hope the gerbil gets better soon!

It's a bit further (F train ride) but I had a wonderful experience at Pet Haven with my gecko.

They have parking so if you have a car, it's worth knowing.

(Oh and the reason I went there is b/c my dog's vet who only does dogs and cats, said that is the only place they send people in Brooklyn for small animals and exotics.)

Here's the update, and thanks to everyone who posted. My husband took her to Pet Haven because it was closer. So, $110 later, it turns out Inky has a small wound for which we got ointment and we also have to give her something by mouth.
