Bolt Bus question

I was wondering if anyone was an experienced Bolt Bus rider and could answer a question about luggage. I've only used them once before but am traveling with them tomorrow. I will have some not valuable-looking but valuable-to-me things in my backpack--mostly handknits including a sweater I just spent 9 months knitting for my mother. If my bag is pretty small, will I be able to stow it inside the bus in the overhead rack? My recollection is that Bolt Bus had such a rack while MegaBus does not. Would appreciate any info on this since it would obviously be idiotic to show up and ask where to store my "valuables" where people can overhear me.

Mrs. Whynot and I recently took the Bolt Bus to DC.

There was adequate space under the seat for our stuff.

    Mrs. Whynot is kinda small

I took a soft weekend duffle on the bolt bus with no problem. Can't remember clearly about overhead racks but I think I stuffed it under the seat.

The Bolt Bus I took to DC a couple of weeks ago had overhead racks. But as others have said, there is quite a lot of leg room to fit small bags, as well.

There's a rack above and plenty of space below for a backpack.

Our trip to DC, we had two different buses- one had more comfortable seats, IMO, but both had ample interior storage space.

I've taken the Bolt Bus dozens of times between NYC and DC, and usually found the space for bags to be plenty adequate. While you seem worried about putting bags underneath, that part is generally pretty orderly. In fact, I've heard stories of riders banding together when items were lost during the ride.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Bolt bus report: I successfully stowed the backpack in the overhead rack on my trip down. The trip back was less successful insofar as it got cancelled because of the snowstorm and I had to take Amtrak. Oh well!
