Alternate side parking tomorrow

As of now, NYC.gov has alternate side in effect for tomorrow.

Is Bloomberg really going to compound an already disasterous PR situation by requiring thousands of people in the still-snowbound outer boroughs to find a new parking spot by tonight?

Is the NYPD going to be ticketing cars that are still buried under snow drifts?

Are drivers going to have to move a car on a street that hasn't even been plowed yet?

I was wondering about this. I am "car sitting" for some out of town neighbors.

I've emailed the DOT and Councilman Levin about this, but have zero hope of a reply, much less any action. At this point, I have no plans to even try moving my car.

The website was just updated: http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/motorist/scrintro.shtml

Suspended tomorrow for snow removal. Suspended Friday & Saturday for New Year's. THANK GOD! I snagged a Thursday space.

NYC has a bad habit of taking appropriate parking suspensions late in the day. It seems they were early for once, considering they have waited until 4:30pm to 5pm on past snow days.

@Idlewild - Given everything else that's gone wrong in the past couple days, I give the city credit for making the correct (albeit easy) decision on this. It's a no-brainer that should have been announced earlier, but better late than never.
