    this is bad news, but a cheap remedy would be to get a trashy beater bike, lock it outside , ride to the 7th ave 9th st in the morning and lock it there, then get off at 7/th & 9/th on the way home and ride home.

    just don't lock it to MTA property. at 4th and 9ths there are bike racks right there. not sure about 7th and 9th.
