edited November -1 in Prospect Heights

My husband just came in from outside with a dog that appeared to be lost or abandoned. He's a mut, maybe part bulldog. Light brown with a dark brown nose. One eye looks infected. He has a collar but no tags. If anyone is looking for this dog, please contact us ASAP. He was found on Washington Ave btw Fulton and Atlantic.

He looks like a puggle (beagle/pug mix).

    Lost Dog

Outside of the usual craigslist/petfinder posting for lost dog, make sure you contact FIDO and get him listed on their email blast. It's surprisingly effective.

    Yeah, email Fido.

    From the website:

E-mail your information including a cell phone number to [email hidden] or bipcar at gmail.com (both one and the same)

We will be able to quickly e-mail 600+ dog owners, the majority of whom live in the vicinity of downtown Brooklyn. While FIDO is not a rescue organization, per se, we will do all that we can to help by posting notices for a reasonable length of time.

Thanks for the FIDO tip! And yeah, puggle. That sounds right. He's a pretty sweet dog. Great disposition, just desperately in need of house training.

Thanks for rescuing this dog! Be sure to post flyers (no photo and have the person calling give you a description just to make sure that it goes back to it's rightful owners) and call 311 to report him as found.

You can also give a call to Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital. They are located near where you found the dog. It might be one of their patients. 718-638-2276. Thanks for taking this little guy in.

Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your advice! We've given the dog to Sean Casey Animal Rescue in Kensington. They scanned him and found that he has a chip, but it was never registered. They will hold him there for a week and then if no one claims him, they will put him up for adoption.

Sean Casey is a good spot for a lost/dumped dog. Glad y'all picked up the little guy.
