Brooklyn in the thirties

Poor people all over. Everybody had a phone. It was located at the corner candy store.

Most of the things people buy for their kids today was manufactured by us.

A scooter was made buy taking a skate breaking it min two by removing the nut and nailing two wheels to each endof the two x four. Atch a fruit crate and ride away like the wind. Wagon were made ithth the 2x4 and wheels from baby carriages.

There wasn't any money to buy with so we scavenged and made things that really worked.

There was stick ball, stoopball.

We spent winters making fort and having snowball fights.

With all the poverty around we were great at surviving

and people made the best of a world that was a lot brighter than it is to day with all our modern conveniences
