Verizon Nabs the iPhone (Finally)

Verizon Wireless on Tuesday finally announced that it will add the Apple iPhone to its smartphone lineup early next month

And the new iPhone 4 has new antenna and a hotspot application that would allow you to connect your computer or any other device to the internet. How stupid was it to buy a current-generation AT&T iPhone 4 for Christmas??

Not sure if you're trying to sell us the new phones, but there's almost nothing "New" about this iPhone except: 1.) Verizon's CDMA chip (won't work on other cariers) and 2.) a 2nd antenna (not a "new antenna"). The hotspot feature you mentioned is technically possible on existing iPhones, should our networking provider (ATT) provide better data tethering options.

In any case, we all stand to benefit from new competition in the mobile space, and I know many Brooklynites will be excited to have these options on the generally well-regarded Verizon network...

When I saw the word "antenna" I just assumed this meant they addressed the antenna placement issue - ie, the calls fade out when I'm gripping the phone the wrong way in my left hand. Not the case?

in other words, this is the same great iPhone 4 we know and love. as a bonus, I hear Verizon users will get HotSpot features through their carrier
