Horrible Burning Smell by the Hewes St Station J Line

Has anyone noticed the horrible tar like smell at the area nearby the Hewes Street train station? It was 8:30 in this morning. Does anyone know where it is coming from?

tarring the station roof, maybe?

No, it shouldnt be because this has been going on for 3 months now.

I know this message was from a year ago but does anyone know the answer to this question? I live around this station and that smell comes and goes often. I'm constantly closing my windows. I'm convinced it's toxic. Please if anyone knows what the horrible smell is in South Williamsburg please share.
