Stomach virus or water contamination? Speculative Epidemiology...

Have you been ill with a stomach bug recently? It struck me and some of my neighbors at the same moment, despite the fact that I hadn't seen them in weeks. I've heard other stories of strange contagion, and I've been noticing occasional brown water from the faucet. With all the snow melting and overwhelming the sewers I'm wondering if the water might be contaminated. Any thoughts?

Where are you located? My stomach has been uneasy for the last week or so, and my partner definitely was hit harder with a stomach bug last Monday (Jan 24th).

No idea if it was a flu or some sort of contamination but my iron constitution failed two weeks ago. After a weekend in bed with massive stomach issues, it was a full two weeks before I was fully recovered.

I have been having on and off "stomach flu" for quite some time now, maybe about a year or so. Always wonder if I left something too long in the fridge or whatever. But my tap water comes out white. Not clear, white! I have a brita filter on the tap itself and then a brita pitcher as well to double filter. No idea if it works or not. Where I am from we only have cistern water and we boil it twice before drinking or cooking with it. Maybe we should do the same thing here?

I think white tap water probably just full of bubbles/air. Also, I don't think a brita filter or the like filters out "bugs" (viruses, parasites, bacteria), just minerals/larger things.

Illnesses known to have spread through municipal water supplies tend it hit hard and fast, get figured out and remedied quickly.

Nofay, have you seen a doctor about being sick that long? I doubt whatever is causing your problem is from the water supply, but if you're sick enough to use the words stomach flu, you should see a doctor. Maybe you have an ulcer, have become lactose intolerant (I recently went from mildly to completely lactose intolerant, very different effects at the two levels for me),but whatever is wrong, having an on and off stomach flu sounds miserable.
