Apt Cleaning Service?

Any recommendations for a cleaning service in Prospect Heights? Am looking for basic dusting, floor mopping/vacuuming, cleaning windows, etc. Would prefer someone that charges by the apartment and not the hour. I have all cleaning supplies except for a bucket for the mop.

If you're willing to get the bucket and the mop, I've used Si Se Puede. Lots of folks here rec'd them and I was very happy. I gave them lots of info on size of the space and what I wanted done (like having the fridge cleaned on top of normal stuff) and they gave an estimate which is what I paid, plus a good tip for a great job. It's a cooperative so whoever cleans your place gets the money, not a company that then pays them a pittance. You provide cleaning supplies, they use them.

I usually do the cleaning but due to surgery was told to stay off my feet for a while and I was really happy with this service. Getting them on the phone can be a little hard, but the actual cleaning was great.

I have wonderful cleaning lady, Nancy. She is looking for work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Please call 718-604-2683 during the day and leave message if you need her number. She is very trustworthy (has keys to my apt.).

Me, too. We've been using the same person from Si Se Puede for most of a year now, and she's still great.

I've only used a cleaner once, and it was SSP. I thought the price sounded high until I broke it down to an hourly rate. The lady was here (and working hard) for a lot longer than I expected but she also cleaned everything in one go instead of a bit today, some tomorrow and more thoroughly than I do regularly. The hourly rate (I can't remember now) seemed low, considering she probably didn't have "work" insurance or paid vacation, so I threw in a good tip.

A friend of mine runs the wonderful Green Breeze Cleaners. Their cleaners are meticulous and trained in green cleaning practices which they use exclusively. Plenty of info about them on their website.

BrooklynPotter: I pay $90 every 2 weeks for my four room apartment (5 including the bathroom, which we should, because it gets cleaned.) I have really been happy with the woman I use from Si Se Puede. Has anyone tried the handyman service they offer?
