Fresh Fruit and Veggies at the Kensington Youthmarket, July to October

Fresh, delectable, straight-from-the-farm fruit and vegetables are coming to Kensington this summer. Kensington Youthmarket will be open on Saturdays from July 9th through October 29th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., on Fort Hamilton Parkway (between E. 5th and E. 4th streets).

GrowNYC will buy fresh fruit and vegetables from Greenmarket's local/regional family farmers--which promotes local agriculture--and our neighborhood's young people will run the farm stand--which gives them an opportunity to earn money, get training in the skills needed to run a small business (promotion, merchandising, and customer service), and learn about health and nutrition.

    All right - an alternative to the over priced Grand Army Plaza Market. I'm definitely going to visit this. Too bad we have to wait four months. You might want to remind us again when the time approaches.
