23rd street sidewalk

Anyone know why they are marking the sidewalk

They've been cutting out sections and planting trees in the nabe. Just did a about a dozen on 20th St btw 5th & 6th. Maybe this?

That makes sense

Con Ed is planting 18 trees around the sub station.

23rd St, btwn 6th and 7th Aves will also be getting tree guards thanks to the 23rd St. Neighbors Assoc.

i see that they dug up the sidewalk last week anyone know when they will plant the trees
