scarano buildings in the neighborhood?

reading this NYT story about mezzanines and removal platforms and shady square footage estimates i thought i remembered reading here about something similar -- can anyone say where the scarano buildings are in the neighborhood if any (i feel like there have to be one or two on washington ave or maybe a couple on classon near abigail's) or is this a more generic issue?
