Subject: Oscar's Pizza

Oscar's, the best slice of pizza I think I've ever had, is closed and about to be replaced by the generic and overpriced-looking "Park Slope Grill."

my question is whether Oscar will be setting up shop or making pizza anywhere in the neighborhood. i know he was previously at Roma's. his pizza shop will be missed greatly, as Joe's ran a distant second in the neighborhood in my book.

I thought Oscar's Pizza was terrible - the crust was so incredibly dry and cracker like. The sauce and cheese were not bad, but the crust was so bad that nothing could overcome it.

I had never actually tried Oscar's because the pizza looked so terrible when I went in there.

so do we know if Oscar's headed anywhere?

i thought the crispy crust was the best part of their pizza. to each his own, i guess.

    J0518,
It would appear as if Oscar is going away for good and it is a good thing.
Best of luck to the Park Slope Grill.

So no one knows where Oscar has gone? My son will be devastated...he recently moved out of state and was expecting superior pizza during his visit home....where should he go now for Oscar-like pizza?

I was never impressed by it. The place nearby on Flatbush is much much better

Me neither, but I did have one slice of lasagna pizza that was satisfying in a really guilty way...

How can you deny Lenny's its due? Prospect AVENUE (not place) and 5th Avenue. Much better than Oscars.

The best non-gourmet pizza this side of the Pecos. The slices have a nice zesty flavor to them.
