where are you watching and who do you like?

The Gate on 5th Ave and 3rd St in the Slope has a new TV for the occasion . . .
the new place on Union St at 5th Ave is reported to be a futbol joint, but they aren't open yet . . . same owners have Floyds in Boerum Hill, but I don't actually find myself over there.
you?

a recent thread on available places from the Park Slope board . . .

Since it's broadcast for free on ESPN2, it's everywhere. It was on at the post office today.

It doesn't feel as "special" as last time when it took a special trip to a bar that paid for the World Cup package...

I think it's going to add to the all-over vibe. Sugarcane was HOPPING after the T+T game today. Soca Warriors!

Iran v Mexico, Sunday noon! Wonder which hot spot to pick in Sunset Park....

Meaning they're both great as long as there's plenty of beer involved?

I'm sooooo not into watching other televised sports like baseball
no subtext of geo-political drama! no former colonies playing former colonists! No Iran!
AND no soca music and roti celebration!
    :D

and yeah, beer in the middle of the day
    FUN!
Carnivore, we got antipasti from a slammin' place in Bay Ridge (see that board, deli thread, Piazza Mercado) and enjoyed the taps at the Gate. I kinda like the Black Sheep dedication to the Cup better, but all bars have their charms....

you going to watch Italia v Ghana?

I totally appreciate Blk Sheep and The Gate having weiss on tap - refreshing summer noon libation - but the lack of good salty and vinegar based snacks is a problem...
