Let's hear it for iPhone video catching this super clear exchange -- unthreatening banter from a bystander towards a bike rider stopped for being on the sidewalk turns into I don't know what. Grumpy officer ought to be suspended for this ridiculous overreaction.

    I would love to know what serious crimes went unattended while this van full of cops decided to harass a member of the community they swore to protect.

    Maybe the cops are headed towards finally going overboard and the city, or mayor, or SOMEONE caring that they're wasting their time on this sh-t?

    Sad and frightening. It made me want to cry. There was no reason for the police officer to approach the passerby in the first place. How easily this situation could have escalated even further. The thought of it scares the crap out of me.
