Dear Neighbors,

Friends of the Berms reconvenes THIS SATURDAY, May 7 at 10:00 a.m. And we're in luck - looks like Saturday will be beautiful - partly sunny with high of 68! We'll meet at our usual spot: the corner of Plaza St & Vanderbilt Ave.

Whether or not you can attend, you can help spread the word.

Please post in your building lobby, elevator, laundry room

Forward the email or flyer to neighborhood list serves and bulletin boards Tell a friend or neighbor about Friends of the Berms

TOOL Volunteer Needed: Please note, we need one or more special Volunteers this week to help with Tool Pick-up. This task requires: (1) a shopping cart (or car), and (2) one hour on a weekday. Our Tool Volunteer picks up and returns tools to the Volunteer Office at Prospect Park (Litchfield Villa at PPW & 3rd Street). The tools are not heavy or difficult to carry! If you could help with this essential task - even one time - please let us know!! We particularly need help for the May 7 event. Please respond email - [email hidden] for details!

Finally, please mark these upcoming Berm dates on your calendar: June 4 and June 25.

We hope to see you soon!

Wendy Reitmeier

Wendy, you may be the one to know the answer to this question: what are those enormous sarcophagi-like blocks of white-ish granite on the PH side of the GAP roadway for?

    Thanks.

    Good prospect-

DOT is going to use them in the upcoming revamp of GAP. Details here http://brooklynian.com/forum/prospect-heights/grand-army-plaza-version-93

I looked at the GAP plan but can't see any mention or even drawing detail which looks like those big granite blocks - do you know more specifically what they'll be used for? Thanks!
