no body needs the american type of empire, military spending out weighing anything and wars every where.

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates bluntly criticized NATO nations on Friday for what he said were shortages in military spending and political will, warning of “a dim if not dismal future” unless more member nations scaled up their participation in the alliance’s activities.

I had a good chuckle at the idea of an American, who's country spends more on national defense than most of the world COMBINED, telling ANYONE they don't spend enough on the military.

only invasion europe is getting is poor people on boats from africa, middle east and asia. these boats are not even sea worthy. they don't even need expensive ships or planes to find them.

there are no real threats besides refugees.

Yeah, well I remember at the beginning of the Bush Administration the government proposed cutting back on some bases in Europe, and the local residents objected strenuously to their governments who pressured Washington to stay. All those big bases in Europe provide a lot of dollars to the local economies, in addition to providing a strong disincentive to any would be belligerents.
