the name and the feel of the place just make feel like the type of place where there would be too much of an "in crowd" to just walk in, like I felt at the original Tea Lounge several years ago.

haven't been there, Comfortzone, or the other several new places on that side of 5th yet.

So far it seems like the opposite of an "in crowd" place. First they pretend to be a Spanish tapas bar, which is not convincing when the barista isn't familiar with the basic dishes being offered. The next time they're not serving food because "the cook didn't show up." And now they have a completely different, boring, non-Spanish bar menu. Forget it. It amazes me that people would open up a restaurant without having any definite idea about what kind of food to offer.

The name "Drama Cafe" reminds me of my early 20's. I feel like all my (then) messed-up friends should be in there, wailing about how no one understands their paiiiiiiiiin, dating wildly inappropriate people and stomping off in a huff. The name alone makes me chuckle whenever I walk by.

I give Drama Cafe 3 months, tops. Reminds me of the ongoing discussion regarding Surreal Cafe/Miriams on this message board.

Bad name + bad concept + bad font = out of business

I'm not sure of the font that Drama Cafe uses, but the name is one of the worst I've ever heard. Let the 5th Avenue restaurant bubble burst!

Nothing wrong with that name... it tells you exactly what to expect: burritos. But Surreal Cafe? Drama Cafe? No clue.

Not until they start putting some tequila in those margaritas, damn it!

Yeah, their house margaritas are a tad light, but they have gotten better. Their margaritas with call tequilas are pretty good.

I just went there today, and am still suffering from the experience 8 hours later. The food is really mediocre. I should've left when I overheard the waitress explain to the cook how to prepare french toast.
