Hudson sewage spill affecting Brighton Beach?

I plan on going to Brighton Beach on Sunday, but due to this new Hudson sewage spill that occurred earlier this week, I'm not sure if it will be safe to go in the water. On the news, they mentioned a few city beaches being closed, however does anyone know/think Brighton will be affected?

IMO, it's affected with or without the spill. In between the Long Island Sound/East River combining with the Hudson River/Narrows and Jamaica Bay run-offs - you're probably better off hitting the Rockaways. Not by much I imagine.

Rumor has it that there was a no-swim advisory at Coney today.

I was there yesterday, swimming in the sea along with half the population of New York! No problems at all as far as i could see.

Other than the usual complaints about drugs and condoms, no the water seems to be free from sewage. Doesn't seem to be any warning or anything issued here yet.
