Called by ConEd

A friend of mine in Crown Heights just mentioned that she got a call from ConEd asking her to turn off any unnecessary electronic stuff. I didn't get one. Anyone in PH get one?

no but i remember that from last year. everyone has their a/c on and it inevitably stresses the system.

Therefore all these supposed green electric vehicles are not environmentally friendly at all--- because most people plug them into their existing electrical grid----what a scam.

My initial thought, too, but I read an article in the times that says that bout 25% less carbon is produced by electric cars. Of course, there's the mercury and strip mining, but at least a little less carbon...

I bet they are playing with the numbers.

I bet they are referring to local impact where you are actually driving your car and the surrounding emissions -- here in Brooklyn. But there is a carbon footprint that has to be considered throughout the distribution/delivery process before it is finally converted into electricity here in Brooklyn (or wherever it is that you charge and drive your car)
