Young puppy found this morning at Prospect Park (7/30). Puppy is currently being housed at near-by vets office. Please be able to identify your dog (no tags on dog). Purposefully being vague in describing dog as not to attract people who just want dog for bad gain.

Sound like off leash works great.

You might want to reach out to Fido Brooklyn as well - their lost pet listing - to get the word out to more people in order to get this little guy back to his home.

Thanks for helping this puppy out in the meantime until his family finds him!

If I had a puppy and didn't want it, and couldn't give it away, and wasn't real bright, I might drop it off at prospect park just before weekend off leash hours.

I wonder if this is such a scenario.

PS "wasn't real bright" is a nice way to say "dumb and juvenile"

Thanks for the input. Yes, the conclusion by the vet was that the doggy was too much work for someone and so she was set free in the park :(. Thankfully we got her on a leash before she learned about cars.

She was brought to a no-kill shelter and we hope she is adopted by wonderful people.

So sad. Any details on the pup in case anyone is interested?

She is presumed to be a six month old pit bull (or mix). She did not have any aggression issues, but had some trust issues. She is at Sean Casey.

I am unable to post her picture. But she is black, with a white streak down her nose and a white belly. She was given the name Lilly-Pepper.

There is another dog there named Pepper who is not as friendly(as per staff) so if you are interested be specific.

She cuddled after getting treats and wanted to play.

Sounds like she's lucky, both to have been picked up by somebody who cared and that she is now at SCAR. Sean Casey's staff should be able to place her in the right home.
