Magazines

Anybody art direct on a magazine, or know someone that does? I've got an interview coming up but my background thus far is all in advertising.. I need guidance. I'll buy you/them a beer. And the interrogation will only last as long as it takes to drink it. Just a few questions about working with layouts, design principles, fitting stuff in, pagination, etc, etc.. :?: much gratitude in advance.
