Sunset Park Fences

Hello. I'm wondering if others have noticed the fences going up around SP park over the past couple of days? I just moved into the area a few months ago so I'm not sure if this is normal but there is a whole walkway on the south side that has no exit anymore. I heard that the park did something like this 4 years ago to rework the ground and smooth it out, hence the fences I guess.

Anyone have anymore info or no how long the project will last?

Thanks! I'm sure that's it. I face the park and am nervous by how much they emphasized how loud it's going to be. I wonder what a multi purpose field is or how it will differ from what's there now.
