I was looking at Esquire magazine while working out at the gym this morning and the cover story was about the best bars in the US. Lo and behold there's Freddy's, one of only about 5 bars in all of NYC listed and, if I remember right, the only one outside of Manhattan.

Maybe it can get national landmark status and avoid Ratner's wrecking ball.

Freddy's voted one of the best bars in the U.S.? Their standards must be pretty low. Don't get me wrong, Freddy's is a cool place to hang out, but I could name 20 bars in NYC alone that blow it out of the water in terms of beer selection and atmosphere.

nothing personal, but LOL @ people who think a beer selection makes a bar.

Laugh heartily, funny boy, because that's THE most important criteria for me! That's one of the many, many things that makes me special.
