Saturday mornings in Prospect Park

Hi,

I like jogging in Prospect Park on Saturday mornings, but to date have only done so after 9 or 10 AM.

This weekend my only time to run will be considerably earlier (like 6 or 7 AM). I'm wondering how early people get to the park since I'd rather not jog if the park is still desolate at that time (as a woman, I'm trying to be cautious due to the various P.S. area sex attacks).

Anyone know?

You will defiantly not be alone at 6am in Prospect Park. If you are looking for a jogging partner you might want to check out the Prospect Park Track Club. www.pptc.org. Our name sounds like were are a competitive group but we have a lot of "joggers"

We do a lot of stroller walks at that time and it's always busy enough that you won't be alone.

Lots of joggers, bikers, and dog people are out that early. It's much more crowded that early on the weekends than on weekdays, particularly if you're doing the park road loop.

Agreed you won't be alone, you'll be safe.

    PPTC (as previously mentioned)

Brooklyn Road Runners (also a wide range of speeds)

North Brooklyn Runners (or something like that)

    Whippits

    JackRabbit Sports organized runs

    All good options.
