Is there a directory or listings of the places in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill/West Bed-Stuy where one can volunteer at kitchens for Thanksgiving? Anyone know any likely places?

It seems nobody knows! Too bad, because I would also be interested.

A friend of mine sent this to me earlier today. Not in Brooklyn but a good group of guys and a worthy cause

My fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha, is hosting our annual Project Homeless food drive. Thursday, November 24, 2011, 10am-1pm. We'll be stationed right across the street from a homeless shelter, next to the Port Authority in Manhattan, 41st Street and 9th Avenue. Asking volunteers to serve food AND, if you can, bring a hot pan of food with a serving spoon, or sandwiches, drinks, pastries, take-away containers, disposable plates, cups, napkins, and utensils, and sternos, wire-frames, aluminum trays and foil, and lighters/matches. Contact person is Lamonte Parks: lp78788n [AT] pace.edu

In the future, CDCS (on Classon Ave) is a great place. You can volunteer year-round in their food pantry. And they have an indoor, hydro garden.
