Was at Winey Neighbor's grand opening party last night. Super cute place! Great, well-curated selection and really clever description cards with food and MUSIC pairings. You get the impression there's not a mediocre bottle in the shop.

So great to FINALLY have a "real" wine store on Washington Ave.

One of these days, Washington might start to catch up to Franklin :)

Nice. Has anyone been to the new(ish) wine store on Franklin? Haven't been in, but I'm curious about what their prices are like. I'd assume they're a bit higher than the wine and liquor store on Franklin and Prospect.

The store on Franklin is cleverly called wino(t).

I pronouce it differently than other people: why not.

Wino(t) is excellent, very well-curated and reasonably priced with friendly and knowledgeable staff.

I expect it will do very well in the neighborhood being so close to the subway.

    Random observation:

By my count, there is now a boutique wine shop on Vanderbilt (Fermented Grapes), Washington (Winey Neighbor) and Franklin (Winot).

...there are also larger places, but that is a different random observation.

But there is no non-bullet-proof-glass liquor store to be found east of Washington. Slow and steady...

Can one use the word "habitat" to describe an area that is conductive to having boutique wine stores?

BTW, by my estimate, about 50% of Washington Ave's liquor stores are still bullet proof.
