Kid-friendly place to watch Chelsea v. Manchester?

In my attempt to get my kids (7 & 8 yo) more into soccer I would like to take them to a bar--or other venue--where the game will be on. Fox says it starts at 10:30, but maybe there is a pre-show or something? Anyway, is there a place where a kid could knock back a couple glasses of milk and watch the game?

Thanks!

At 10:30am on a Sunday, are any bars going to be open? Sounds like you should subscribe to Fox Soccer.

Why not sit home comfortably and watch EPL or other international football matches online on VIP Box?

I log on to that site every day and watch all kinds of sports, including soccer, Gaelic football or hurling, rugby, and other sports that are so popular in the Brit Isles or elsewhere.

I went to Woodwork to watch the game. I dunno what their policy is regarding kids, but for future ref, I would say that if you got there about 10 or 15 mins before kick off and got a table you'd be fine. Lots of fruity language though!!!

Woodwork is way too crowded for big games. A chiller venue is BlackHorse Tavern on 5th Ave and 19th st, except with Man City plays. Also, Floyd's except with Tottenham plays. The Spurs at Floyd's would be a real eye-opener for a 7 or 8 year old.

The Upper 90 Soccer Store on Atlantic is always showing games. They'll sometimes broadcast the bigger games on their HD projection screen on their field. For instance, there were a couple youth teams in the store a few weeks ago watching the Barca v Real Madrid game on their indoor field.

Stop by and see what they are showing, or call ahead: (646) 863-7076.

Yes, most bars that fancy themselves "soccer bars" most definitely open early on Saturday and Sunday to show live broadcasts of European soccer.

As for the OP, I don't know of any places off-hand that are more kid friendly. Do you just mean places that don't have (stupid) no-kid rules?

Not 100% sure on this, but I think Plan B on Vanderbilt opens early for soccer, and it's a restaurant as well. I've seen families of all ages in there.

There are a lot of soccer bar/restaurants at the end of Atlantic Avenue towards Brooklyn Heights.

    Chip Shop, Roebling Inn...
