Franklin Avenue has a new bike shop, Excelsior Bike Shop!

Excelsior located @ 694 Franklin Ave., btw Park Pl & Prospect Pl., is a full service shop that sells & repair bikes.

They also sell an array of bike related accessories.

Henry, one of the helpful employees, was able to fully service my Xootr Roma, and it's not even a bike!

There is an Asian guy who works in this store and he makes the whole experience of fixing or repairing your bicycle, insulting. Firstly, he greeted me as if I was JJ from Good Times, and I took this as an affront because, in real numbers, I am old enough to be more than his daddy. Secondly, his level of condescension was so off putting that I made a mental note to have a conversation with other folks about him, which I did..

And they too said, 'yeah, he is an a%%#ole, and you are not the first person to point that out.' I had my bicycle tuned up there -- and by the way, the mechanic, the older Latino brother is very skilled. And on top of that, since there opening I've procured at least, roughly 2 hundred bucks in bicycle accoutrements from the store. So, yeah, when I walk through the door, I don't expect the curled lip condescension from some young dude who acts like I'm doing him a favor.

I had my eye on a pretty bike there, but, I decided not to buy it -- namely because that dude was simply too rude. I have to work with idiots who by virtue of hierarchy tell me what to do. I have to swallow that. That's what work is all about. But, in the luxury of my own time, I don't think it's a necessity that I listen to some rude idiot tell me what he thinks about my bike, and what I need to do.

So I went somewhere else and I bought a new bike, and then I went back to that store and had a conversation with some of the employees telling them why it happened 'not there'.

They understood.... Avoid the Asian dude in the glasses....
