Barclays, KaBoom and Ratner build a playground for Crown Heights

I had no idea that Kaboom was a real thing before this thread. I thought it was a joke group on Parks and Recreation.

I suspect some will deride this as a publicity stunt by Ratner.

However, I doubt the kids and families who use this playground for years to come will care WHY it was built. ....neighborhood playgrounds are great.

Total PR move, but Whynot, you're right. I care less the intended "motive" by Ratner as long as the kids have a new park to play in.

Make it known that all the Atlantic Yards bs is a separate issue and doesn't let him off the hook, but if he wants to build playgrounds at the same time, be my guest.

Such acts will certainly make it harder for Tish James to claim no good has come to her district from the arena.

In the war of public opinion, Ratner might be able to have people in love with the terms of the CBA discredited through such acts.

Sounds like an overall compilation would do it. But, since statistics and generally all things numerical make my head hurt,(except my paycheck - which actually makes me giggle at its minuteness (I work for a non-profit)) I'll leave the compilation and computation of such data to you sir whynot - if you don't mind.
