new time warner modems

man, what a hassle getting my stuff up & running. replacing the modem was easy, but because the new modem was not compatible with the router I've had for years, i had to reconfigure the routers..and THAT was painful. (maybe there was an alternative to having to reconfigure the router, but if there was, nobody at time-warner bothered to suggest what it was.) what's more, i had to pay cisco customer support $30 before they'd help me because the warranty for my router had expired.

thanks for letting me vent. i know i'm not alone in having to switch modems, so maybe my experience will help prepare you for any potential problems. and if your experience has been problem-free, consider yourself lucky.
