Fireworks...on Frankling (north of Sterling?)

I keep hearing pops tonight intermittently that I figured were fireworks (due to the 4th being so soon) but now I'm hearing sirens. Anyone know what's going on? Am I being paranoid?

Can't find any info on Gothamist etc, for this.

Pops, sirens, and helicopters. Sounded like firecrackers to me, but who knows. Cops get grumpy about illegal fireworks around this time too.

Understandable though. Last year I watched teens shoot fireworks at parked cars and pedestrians on my street. It took multiple calls to get the cops put, but after a car's hood ornament caught on fire from one, they got on it.

I saw some spent firecracker wrappers/bottle rockets on the sidewalk right around there this morning, so that's probably all it was (fingers crossed).
